When it comes to gender equality in Africa, there seems to be a trend for more theoretical pledges than active commitment from policy and decision makers.
While civil society strives to tease public leaders, a more systemic discourse for gender equality is still wanting. One main section of society that has remained least engaged is where the future lies: The youth.
Initiatives such as the Africa Gender Equality Moot constitute commendable moves to fill in the gap. Any public figure should join and support such movement; and I am proud to have lent my voice and resources to these next to be leaders embedded in today’s law students.
